Discover rare plants and 500 million years of earth's history. Carinthia's Natural Arena is well-known as a paradise for hikers. Come and explore the “Carnic” and “Gailtaler” Alps of valleys Gailtal, Gitschtal and Lesachtal.
Between the Plöckenpass and Nassfeld you can revive million of years of the earth's history in just a few hours. 26 theme-walking ways as the “Geo Trail” and the "Peace trail", which wind their ways along the borders to Italy are waiting for you. From June until July you can admire the “Wulfenia” a rare plant, which grows up in the Himalaya and Nassfeld only.
Carinthia's Natural Arena offers still more, whether you prefer strolling around the lakeshores of the lake Weissensee or lake Pressegger See, hiking from hut to hut, or scrambling around the tree line- 1000 km marked walking paths enables hiking pleasure at any altitude.
